Meet Theresa.

Born and raised in Georgia, Theresa Roth is an author, speaker, mentor, and artist with a passion for sharing the hope and healing she has experienced through her relationship with Christ. Through her book, Facing Your Fears, she encourages others to face life’s challenges with confidence in God and discover the freedom that can be found on the other side of fear.

With a business career spanning thirty-five years, Theresa held leadership positions in consulting, marketing and communications, event planning, and finance. For twenty of those years, she also served alongside her husband, David, founder and former CEO of Workmatters, a nonprofit faith-and-work organization. Today, she focuses on encouraging women in their faith journeys through her book, speaking and mentoring.

Theresa and David live in Fayetteville, Arkansas, in the beautiful Ozark Mountains. They enjoy hiking, biking, canoeing, and traveling. They are blessed with two adult sons, Dylan and Tyler, and a wonderful daughter-in-law, Bethany.

Theresa’s Impact.

As she shares in Facing Your Fears, Theresa made a return trip to Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, and Washington, D.C., to commemorate the thirty-fifth anniversary of the Beirut bombing that claimed the lives of her first husband, 1st LT. John Boyett and 240 other servicemen.

During those ceremonies, she was introduced to a motto: "The First Duty is to Remember." That simple yet profound statement became a catalyst for Theresa to remember and honor those who lost their lives in the attack and to tell the story of God's faithfulness throughout her own journey of healing.

In response to that calling to remember and tell, Theresa didn't just write a book. She also established the 1st Lt. John Boyett Memorial Endowment to honor John's legacy and help carry forward the values that shaped his life. Through its support of  Workmatters Institute resources and programs, the endowment helps advance Workmatters’ mission to see people formed into the image of Christ in work, at work, and through work.
